Gene Simco is regarded as the Leading American Author of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu books for good reason; not only was he the first to author books on the subject, he was also the first to publish illustrated BJJ (Sport Jiu-jitsu) techniques online. Having studied several martial arts and already a Classical Jiu-jitsu teacher, his motivation for Brazilian Jiu-jitsu training was unlike many others who begin for sport or recreation. Gene’s interest in film developed after watching his first DVD series being produced and has been an avid filmmaker ever since. Gene was encouraged by his students to make instructional DVDs, feeling that his personality and live instruction should be captured on film and shared with those who didn’t have the opportunity to train with him in person.
